The Salvation Army Horbury has an outstanding opportunity for a Youth and Family Mission Worker to join the team. Within this role you will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of spiritual youth programmes and outreach with the local community to fulfil the aims of the Mission Development Plan.
In addition you will;
1. Develop effective working partnerships with internal mission development teams to ensure spiritual programmes are designed and implemented in alignment with organisational and best practice principles
2. Lead on establishing links to the community, schools, colleges and any relevant external agencies to maximise the effective delivery of programmes to the community
3. Develop and lead worship in the spiritual youth programme and where appropriate provide chaplaincy, mentoring and pastoral care visits to support young people
4. Demonstrate both a professional and caring manner when interacting with programme participants to create a welcoming and supportive environment
To succeed in this role you will have;
5. The ability and willingness to support the fulfilment of the spiritual aims of the programme, showing compassion and understanding to all programme participants and be willing to support an individual’s spiritual needs
6. A strong level of English - both spoken and written - and numeracy required to enable you to fulfil all duties of the role
7. The ability and willingness to lead and/or participate in worship, provide pastoral care and bring young people in the local community into a living faith with Jesus
8. Proven good experience of using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Outlook and Teams to perform your work duties
9. Demonstrable ability to use your initiative, plan, organise and prioritise your tasks to effectively meet your objectives
10. An awareness of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements such as health and safety, data protection, safeguarding, equality and diversity
