Job Description:
We are Trismik, an early-stage startup spinning out of Cambridge University developing adversarial tests for Large Language Models (LLMs). Our mission is to provide the fastest and most accurate testing environment to add the highest value to AI engineers wishing to deploy AI applications using LLMs. We do this to help companies and researchers to push forward the SoTA in Artificial Intelligence and to achieve the best possible chance of a human-aligned AGI.
We are looking for an early career Graduate Software Engineer to help us build our Python LLM evaluation library, working closely with the Engineering and Science teams. We open to hiring remotely in the UK.
As one of our first hires this is a high-impact and high-ownership role. We believe this is a unique and exciting opportunity where you will need to influence our software roadmap, have a strong say in how our technical and product roadmap evolves, and engage with our users and customers to foster platform adoption.
Key job responsibilities
As one of our first hires, you will work closely with the CTO, leading the development of our open source Python tools, engaging and growing our community. The ideal candidate has a passion for software and AI, with experience in LLMs, open source contributions, or a strong track record of personal software projects. Your duties will include:
* Own the development of our Python open source evaluation library;
* Engage with the community through GitHub and other channels, fixing bugs and writing documentation to foster platform adoption;
* Collaborate with Engineering and Science teams to implement features and metrics;
* Ensure platform security and performance standards;
* Write high-quality, well-tested code following best practices;
* Contribute to technical roadmap and strategic planning.
You should be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and be creative, while paying attention to detail, and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
Essential Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree (graduating autumn 2025 or already obtained) in Computer Science, AI, or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, source control, continuous deployment, testing, and operational excellence.
* Very strong knowledge of Python.
Desirable Qualifications
* Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., Torch, Hugging Face) and data analysis platforms (e.g., Pandas).
* Experience with open source projects.
* Experience in community engagement projects.
* Familiarity with Scrum/Agile practices.
Our Offer
* Competitive salary, bonus, and share options in our startup;
* Company-issued laptop;
* Flexible/remote work environment, based in Cambridge/London, open to remote candidates in the UK or EU, with travel allowances for meetups.
