About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with previous accounts experience who is confident in both purchase and sales ledger processes and can work accurately and efficiently within a busy finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Ledger (end-to-end process):
* Monitor and manage the dedicated accounts inbox, downloading invoices, statements, and correspondence.
* Match invoices to delivery notes/orders as appropriate.
* Accurately enter invoices into Sage using correct nominal ledger codes.
* Circulate invoices for approval and manage filing.
* Prepare supplier payment runs and create payments in the online banking system.
* Enter payments in the accounts system and ensure reconciliations are accurate.
* Reconcile supplier statements at month-end.
* Handle supplier queries promptly and professionally.
Sales Ledger (daily tasks):
* Process picking notes and daily invoices, categorising by customer type and payment type.
* Match invoices and picking notes for entry by the Credit Controller.
* Assist with filing and record management.
Other:
* Provide ad-hoc support to the finance team as required.
About You
* Previous experience in a similar Accounts Assistant or Finance Administrator role.
* Working knowledge of purchase and sales ledger processes.
* Experience using Sage (or similar accounting software) is desirable.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Good organisational and time-management skills.
* Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
* Ability to work independently while also being a supportive team member.

* Part-time role: 25 hours per week (5 hours per day, Monday to Friday).
