Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is recruiting a HealthWatch Sunderland Engagement Officer.
Healthwatch provides independent consumer champion for Health and Social Care, ensuring NHS and social care leaders hear voices of service users and use feedback to improve care.
This role joins a well-established team, working across and representing the local community within Sunderland. The successful candidate will be skilled in:
* Engaging a wide range of communities of interest
* Designing, delivering and evaluating community-based engagement activities
* Developing effective positive working relationships with organisations and networks within the voluntary and community sector
* Gathering, analysing and presenting local people’s views in user-friendly reports
* Collaborating with local health and care providers
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively engaging with members of the local community, especially those facing the greatest health inequalities.
* Organising and delivering a range of community-based engagement activities, including events, workshops and outreach activities.
* Designing and evaluating engagement activities delivered in the local community.
* Supporting the analysis of engagement findings and producing and presenting research reports to relevant audiences.
* Delivering the HWS Youthwatch workplan, including Youthwatch meetings.
* Identifying opportunities for co‑production and collaboration with key partners.
* Facilitating consultation and co‑production activities to ensure voices are heard and acted upon in service design and delivery.
* Recruiting, supporting, training and motivating volunteers.
* Developing effective relationships with other organisations, networks and forums to obtain the views of their constituencies.
* Working with local health and care providers to gather and share patient and service user feedback to improve services.
* Contributing to marketing activity—promotional materials, social media, website, press releases, e‑newsletters.
* Representing and promoting HWS at external meetings, forums and events.
* Maintaining up-to-date local information for signposting.
* Leading dissemination of key information to residents—supporting informed decisions, navigation of the health and social care system, complaints, etc.
* Providing evidence-based ideas for the workplan to present to the HWS Advisory Board.
* Conducting personal, venue and activity risk assessments as required.
* Working flexibly within the Healthwatch team, providing cover for colleagues to maintain appropriate staffing levels.
* Recording engagement data into monitoring and reporting systems, including database input.
Requirements
* Full, clean UK driving licence and a car for travel.
* Flexibility to work outside office hours on occasions.
Salary: £15,775.78 per annum (pro‑rata for 22 hours).
