Birmingham City Council is seeking experienced Senior Practitioners to join our Adults Social Caremunity Project Teams. This is a key leadership role within frontline practice, supporting high-quality, citizen-focused social work across Adult Social Care. You will hold responsibility for either aplex caseload alongside supervisory duties, or for leading practice improvement activity that enhances oues for adults.
Your new role
1. Deliver high-quality statutory social work practice in line with the Care Act 2014
2. Provide professional oversight, supervision and support to Social Workers within a designated cluster
3. Lead onplex cases, risk management and decision-making
4. Support staff to meet duties under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and related legislation
5. Model best practice, promote strengths-based approaches and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed.
6. Work collaboratively with partners to ensure joined-up, oue-focused support for citizens
7. Contribute to service improvement, performance monitoring and staff development
What you'll need to succeed
8. At least 2 years post-qualification permanent experience in Adults Social Care
9. Experience operating at Senior Practitioner level or equivalent
10. Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 (and Mental Health Act where applicable)
11. Proven capability of supervising staff and managingplex practice
12. Confidence in professional decision-making, risk assessment and safeguarding
13. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, public-sector environment
