Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need, including those in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or receiving home care. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort and safety while promoting independence.
Duties
* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with specific needs, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
* Facilitate social interaction and companionship to enhance emotional well-being.
* Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for clients.
* Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and family members.
Experience
* Previous experience in caregiving roles such as assisted living, senior care, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
* Experience working with individuals suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia is an asset.
* A background in nursing or related fields would be beneficial but is not essential.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for roles requiring transportation of clients.
* Experience in childcare may also be considered relevant for certain positions within our organisation.
