They are currently recruiting for the post of Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Defence and Strategic projects division based in Dover.
They are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage the commercial elements of their key projects within the Defence and Strategic markets.
1. Lead and manage complex civil engineering projects within the Defence and Strategic markets, from initiation through to completion.
2. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
3. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements, particularly those specific to Defence and Strategic sectors.
4. Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and contractors.
5. Identify and mitigate risks to ensure project objectives are achieved.
6. Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners, ensuring effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Oversee procurement processes and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
8. Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and present updates to senior management and stakeholders.
9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery and efficiency.
10. Excellent NEC knowledge
11. Good communication and written skills
12. Minimum of 5 years’ experience
13. Strong understanding of construction and contract law
14. Day to commercial administration of the framework
15. Preparing and issuing sub-contract orders
16. Agreeing payment schedule with sub-contractors
17. Managing Commercial change control for individual jobs delivered on the framework
18. Prepare monthly application to the client
19. Pricing individual jobs from the contract schedule of rates
20. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder engagements
