CATEGORY BUYER FIXTURES FITTINGS & EQUIPMENT
LOCATION: LONDON 3 DAYS A WEEK, HYBRID
SALARY: BASIC SALARY OF £40,000 - 46,000 PER ANNUM
The Group runs a collection of 16 hotels in central London. The Procurement team manage circa £100m to leverage the supply chain to maximise value and deliver competitive advantage to the Group and its hotels in support of the group’s strategic objectives.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Category Buyer is responsible for supporting on the strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor management of all furniture, fixtures, equipment, and operating supplies required for hotel refurbishment and ongoing operations. This role ensures that all products and services meet brand standards, quality expectations, cost targets, and project timelines while maintaining strong supplier relationship, and compliance with procurement policies. The role will:
* Work with the Group Head of Procurement, Category Manager and wider Procurement team to streamline and improve processes aligned to the Procurement Core Focus Strategy
* Maintain accurate procurement documentation, price lists, and supplier databases
* Maintain the master brand bible and brand control books and update them as required.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies, brand standards, and contractual legal requirements.
* Support the Category Manager in developing and executing category sourcing strategies for FF&E and OS&E to achieve cost, quality, and agreed delivery objectives.
* Support the Category Manager in preparing and issuing RFQ’s, RFP’s, and purchase orders in line with company procurement procedures.
* Support the Category Manager in organizing sample approvals and product mock-ups.
* Maintain a qualified and diversified supplier base to ensure competitive supply and risk mitigation.
* Support Sustainability and ESG objectives through responsible sourcing practices.
* Make recommendations for product switches and areas of rationalisation and consolidation
* Remain up to date with market trends; identify and communicate innovation in products, services, and technologies
* Maintain reporting controls, tracking inflation and cost mitigation initiatives.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree educated or equivilent, pursing CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) or expressed an interest in doing so.
* Minimum 2-year track record as an OS&E and or FF&E category buyer / assistant, ideally with a good technical appreciation of the range of purchasing categories
* Experience of working within the hotel or hospitality sector
* Ability to influence and build confidence with senior stakeholders at all leadership levels
* Strong Communication skills with proven supplier management capabilities, analytical capabilities and negotiation skills
* IT Proficient in use of Microsoft Office programmes – Excel, Power Point, Word and working with P2P & S2C systems.
