Criminal Justice Recovery Worker - Connect (Salisbury)
Job Introduction
Please Note: A Full UK Driving License and Access to a Vehicle is an Essential Requirement.
At Turning Point, we provide services across the whole country that deliver end-to-end drug and alcohol treatment and support, family services, housing advice, and support for those in contact with the criminal justice system. We are specialists in delivering whole treatment system approaches across cities and county areas, which has led to the reduction in people falling through gaps between services and improved outcomes.
As a Criminal Justice Recovery Worker, you'll make a real difference in the community and to individuals' lives as you develop the personal, flexible, and realistic support packages they need to help turn things around.
We offer a starting salary of £25,116, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, up to £29,383 per year. (Dependent on experience, you may be offered a starting salary above the initial starting salary).
You will have opportunities to progress your career with a structured learning journey and clearly defined career pathways that will enable you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths.
Role Responsibility
The successful candidate will support the Criminal Justice Team in taking a hands-on approach to reducing drug-related crime in Wiltshire, as outlined in the government’s 10-year drug strategy “from Harm to Hope”. This will include managing a caseload of criminal justice clients, ensuring their treatment aligns with our policies and procedures while also ensuring compliance with their Court orders.
You will spend much of your time working alongside key partners, so the ability to manage relationships with police, prisons, courts, and probation services is essential.
You will work in partnership with the wider CONNECT teams to deliver the ambitions of the CONNECT service. To do this, you must be organized, focused, able to work in a team or independently, have good communication skills, and be innovative in your approach.
Your regular duties will include supporting the Criminal Justice Manager & Advanced Practitioner in the delivery of:
* Court-ordered treatments.
* Drug supply disruption activities.
* Drug test on arrest interventions.
* Police custody in-reach.
* Continuity of care for Prison leavers.
* Reducing the number of females engaged in the criminal justice system.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to play an integral role in reducing the impact of substance use-related crime in Wiltshire.
The Ideal Candidate
Having handled a significant caseload in a busy environment as a Recovery Worker, Outreach Worker, or similar, you'll have a deep understanding of substance use and the Recovery Agenda. Flexibility and knowledge of relapse and other barriers to recovery will be vital. We also look for Engagement and Prevention workers with excellent communication skills and ideally a vocational qualification, such as an NVQ 3 or equivalent.
You will manage recovery coordination sessions, compile risk assessments and risk management plans, and create care planning and reduction plans. Delivering presentations and workshops on various topics and driving our roaming recovery vehicle are also part of your duties.
Excellent IT skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential for this role. Holding a full driving license and having access to a car is essential as you will be based in Salisbury; however, travel across the county is required.
