If so, applications are open for cohort 5 of The Kofoworola Abeni Pratt Fellowship.
Kofoworola Abeni Pratt Fellows, will be seconded to the CNO offering immersion in a corporate role, gaining exposure to experiences which are not available within clinical services. We are inviting all nurses (including dental nurses), midwives & allied health professionals from all our acute sites (Brompton hospital, Evelina London, Guys hospital, Harefield hospital and St Thomas’ hospital) and community services.

Our Selection process
Shortlisted applicants will attend an interview and group discussion on one of the following dates: 25th/27th February 2026. Due to the tight recruitment timeline, alternative dates or virtual interviews cannot be offered.
Outcomes will be communicated by Wednesday 4th March 2026. The line manager of the successful applicant will also be informed on this day to support appropriate notice periods. Please discuss your intention to apply with your line manager before attending the interview.

Main duties of the job
The Fellows will be seconded to the CNO, adhering to the Trust's secondment guidance. The Band 6 Fellow will work collaboratively with The Nightingale Academy team to ensure alignment with the Academy’s educational and professional objectives, liaising with stakeholders, such as practice educators and learning facilitators, to co-develop resources and support professional development initiatives.
The Kofoworola Abeni Pratt Fellowship serves a dual purpose:
1. The Fellowship is a leadership development opportunity for 10 months, giving nurses, midwives and allied health professionals the opportunity to undertake experiential learning, leading on corporate projects, gaining exposure to the wider organisation and raising the profile of the Fellows.
2. Fellows will be expected to deliver the portfolio of work which has been established by previous Fellowship cohorts. This includes: delivering and ongoing evaluation of the successful Inclusive Leadership Behaviours Programme, attend meetings bringing ideas and contributing to the ED&I agenda, developing and delivering new projects using combinations of staff lived experience, patients experience and other lines of information gathered through engagement with staff from across the organisation, with the aim of disrupting structural barriers and biases.

In addition to delivering the work of the Fellowship, the band 8a will line manage the team of Fellows.

Education/Staff Development
·Towork alongsidetheNightingale Academy, CNO Workforce and AHP Workforce and Education teams to review and delivery of the workforce transformation agenda which includes but not exclusively workforce establishment transformation and new ways of working, the ongoing development and support of Internationally Educated colleagues, the development of equality, diversity and inclusion and leadership initiatives.
·To identify training and development needs of staff within the area in accordance with local and nationalpolicies.
·Supportstaffintheprovisionofregularlocalandrelevantteachingandtrainingsessions including provision of ‘buddied’ clinical time to facilitate on the job learning in relation to specific workforce transformationprojects.
·To be a source of highly specialist clinical and educationalknowledge in relation to EDI.
·Toensurethatpatients’receivehighqualityclinicalcareandagoodpatientexperience, having regard for their customs, religious beliefs anddoctrines.
·Recognise and avoid situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of theindividuals.

·Tailor an ongoing programme of training for qualified and unqualified staff and overseas colleagues requiring adaptation in the care and management of patients within thespecialty.

·Provide pastoral care support to our newly qualified nurses, internationally educated colleagues and staff on the rotationprogramme.
·Works with Kofoworola Abeni Pratt Fellows to contribute to standard setting for nursing, midwifery and AHPpractice.
·Participates in the training of staff to monitor the quality of care delivered using clinical standards and takes necessary action to ensure excellence in practice. Bases standards upon relevant research wherepossible.
·ParticipatesinIndividualPerformanceReviewofstaffwhenappropriateusingtheScope of ProfessionalPractice.
·Develop and implement training programmes for staff to expand their clinical skills in accordance with the Trust’sstandards.
ProfessionalResponsibilities
·To be accountable for care given and comply with the Professional Codes of Conduct, working within the framework of Professional standards of practice and behaviour for nurses, midwives and AHPs.
·To ensure compliance and implementation of Trust policies and procedures, relevant legislation, Nursing and Midwifery strategy, AHP strategy and Clinical Governance standards are understood and practiced by staff. Acts according to the Health & Safety Act and manual handling practice ensuring that all training of staff isdocumented.
·Practices in accordance with the professional direction as stipulated in the Trust’s Nursing & Midwifery and AHPstrategy.
·To take personal responsibility for promoting a safe environment and safe patient care by identifying areas of risk and following the Incident, Serious Incident and Near Misses reportingprocedure.
·Have a visible presence within the clinicalsetting.
·Is responsible for own professional development and an awareness of clinical educational developments. Agrees own personal, professional and service objectives according to Individual Performance Review withManager.
Research andDevelopment
·Actively disseminate research findings as a positive role model through lectures, teaching and other appropriate communication methods
·Assist in the bench marking of nursing, midwifery and AHP practice and evaluate the impact on new practices implemented.
·Undertake primary and secondary research, audits and evaluations as required.
·Support the development of project plans and the delivery of agreed milestones and objectives.
·Lead service level workshops with admin, management and clinical teams. Produce presentation material and follow up information to introduce change projects and delivery plans.
·Communicate information on the delivery progress of the project(s) to key stakeholders as required.
·Provide scheduled highlight and exception reports per project, tracking milestones, for circulation to more senior project leads
·Support evaluation and audit of projects across sites and organisations.
·Support engagement plans for project to proactively ensure that positive and effective relations are developed and maintained between members of the team, all clients and key internal and external stakeholders throughout the project.
·Maintain project information management systems, produce reports and maintain project plans.
·Maintain data collection systems that will provide accurate and timely data, including quantitative and qualitative data.
