Salary: £27,783 per annum plus benefits.
Location: HMP Drake Hall, Contract: Permanent.
Rebuilding your life after a custodial sentence is one of the toughest challenges a person can face. With the right support, it’s possible. We are looking for a dedicated facilitator who brings compassion, resilience, organisation and flexibility. Rehabilitation is more than advice; it’s about proactive support.
About the Role
Work within the prison delivering courses to groups of female participants to support them towards release. Courses are short, sharp and impactful. Build positive connections quickly. Work with Support Workers and Peer Mentors to deliver a comprehensive support package for the last 12 weeks of custody. Help individuals overcome barriers, build confidence and take meaningful steps toward rehabilitation.
What You'll Be Doing
* Group Facilitation – Deliver sessions on goal setting, social interaction and positive decision making.
* Relationship Building – Foster genuine, trusting, non‑judgmental relationships with participants.
* Individual Support – Work 1:1 with participants, setting and reviewing goals and ensuring accurate recording.
* Caseload Management – Manage multiple individuals and associated administrative duties.
* Quality Recording – Maintain thorough, up‑to‑date records in the IT system.
What We Are Looking For
* Training / Facilitation experience – Ability to deliver engaging sessions.
* Communication Skills – Engage, motivate, persuade and listen to build strong connections.
* Safeguarding awareness – Identify safeguarding risks and support interventions.
* IT and Administrative skills – Keep meticulous records to measure progress.
We welcome applicants with lived experience. This role requires an enhanced DBS check and HMPPS EL1 vetting. While awaiting checks, you will shadow colleagues and learn the ropes.
