We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic andcommitted receptionist to join our friendly team. The position is part time.Monday-Friday 16-20 hours a week (TBA at interview) between 8:00am and 6:30pm.
Shifts vary each week and therefore the post holderwill need to be flexible with their working hours. There are times when overtime is required andyou will be expected to undertake your fair share of overtime over yourcontracted hours to cover staff absence.
We are ideally looking for someone with excellentinterpersonal skills and experience with dealing with the general public.Delivering high quality services is essential.
Duties will include general assistance to thepractice team, answering the telephone, care navigation, sign posting patientsto the most appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient,and effective way. Dealing with patient enquiries both over the telephone andon the reception desk. Computer literacy is essential and full training will begiven as appropriate.
Main duties of the job
* General assistance to the practice team and project a positive, professionaland friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via thetelephone
* Care Navigation
* Maintainingand monitoring the practice appointment system
* Processtelephone and e-requests for appointments
* Answerincoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers requestappropriately
* Initiatingcontact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members andexternal agencies
* Advisingpatients of relevant charges for private (non GMS Services), accepting payment,and issuing receipt
* Photocopying
* Processingand distributing incoming and outgoing mail and hospital letters (paper andelectronic)
* Dataentry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information asrequired
* Input data into the patients healthcarerecords as necessary
* Filingand retrieving paperwork
* Scanningof patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patientshealthcare records
* Processpatient prescriptions as directed.
* Supportthe practice administrator with requests for information i.e. SARs,insurance/solicitors letters, DVLA forms, booking of private medicals etc.
* Summarise/readcoding of patients medical records
* Manageall queries, taking messages as necessary and passing information on in anefficient and timely manner

Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above)
* AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care

* Experience of working in a health care setting
