The Role
Set out below are examples of the functions expected for this role. Flexibility is anticipated to adapt to current and future initiatives within the department and firm.
Conveyancer (minimum supervision required):
1. Preparation of plot sale paperwork from reservation to settlement, including:
2. Preparation of Offer and draft documentation for sales;
3. Negotiation of missives;
4. Completing necessary financial tasks and documentation including relevant completion statements;
5. Settlement Procedures including billing and accounts procedures;
6. Dealing with observations on title;
7. Registration procedures including Advance Notices, and utilising LBTT online;
8. Purchase and Re-Sale of part exchange properties including examination of Part Exchange titles;
9. Client reports/attendance at client meetings;
10. Procurement of conveyancing searches;
11. Dealing with incoming phone calls/incoming post;
12. Production and checking of work via BigHand dictation;
13. Inception and closing of files, including account management;
14. Use of case management system, Word, Excel, Outlook, and BigHand.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide quality and accurate service to clients;
* Manage client expectations effectively;
* Attend team briefings;
* Engage in training and self-development, including obtaining relevant qualifications;
* Participate in courses/seminars as required, including outside of office hours;
* Support colleagues through a buddy system when needed.
Skills and Qualifications
* Prior experience as a Conveyancer or in Plot Sales is preferable;
* Ability to manage own caseload independently;
* IT literate and adhere to firm policies;
* Capable of mentoring other staff when required.
