Role Overview
Heritage Portfolio is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Pastry Chef to join our Central Production Kitchen in Leith, Edinburgh. Our kitchen is the core of our operations, producing a variety of desserts and baked goods for our events, café outlets across Edinburgh and Dundee, including cakes, traybakes, biscuits, muffins, and afternoon tea items.
Under the guidance of our Head of Patisserie, the successful candidate will assist in the production of our Patisserie range, helping us deliver high-volume, high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for pastry and prior experience in a similar environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain focus on food allergens and customer information at all times
* Ensure high standards of food quality according to specifications
* Support the Kitchen Manager in adhering to Health & Safety and Food Safety practices
* Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, including HACCP, EHO visits, fire procedures, and first aid protocols
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a culinary professional with proven experience as a Pastry Chef in a high-volume setting. They should be passionate about baking and patisserie, detail-oriented, and capable of supporting all aspects of the Patisserie department. The candidate should also:
* Be organized and adaptable to support various tasks within the department
* Be motivated, team-oriented, and capable of multitasking within tight timeframes
* Follow recipes and specifications accurately, while also contributing to new recipe development and product innovation
