Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Support Officer within the Executive Department. Based within the Ailsa Hospital Campus, although distributed working is available, you will work in a fast‑paced, dynamic and professional environment within a supportive and welcoming team.

This is a key role supporting excellent corporate governance across NHS Ayrshire & Arran. You will work closely with Board Members, senior leaders and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, contributing to a positive speak‑up culture and the effective administration of Board and Committee business.


Hours and Shift Pattern:

37 hours per week over 5 days, 9am to 5pm

This post is offered on a permanent basis


What you will do:

You will play a central role in supporting high‑quality corporate governance arrangements across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

* Managing and coordinating the organisation’s whistleblowing arrangements in line with the National Whistleblowing Standards, ensuring concerns are handled fairly, confidentially and in a person‑centred way.
* Acting as the primary liaison with the Independent National Whistleblowing Officer (INWO) and supporting Board‑level oversight through accurate reporting and analysis.
* Providing committee administration and governance support to NHS Board meetings, Board workshops and a range of Board‑required committees.
* Line managing the Corporate Administration Team within the Executive Office.
* Supporting the Head of Corporate Governance in the ongoing development and delivery of effective corporate governance systems across the organisation.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience gained through relevant work, you will have substantial experience of working in a complex organisational environment supporting senior managers, committees or Boards. You will have proven experience of providing high‑quality committee administration, including agenda preparation, minute‑taking and action tracking, and of producing clear, accurate and professional written reports. The role requires the ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism, work autonomously to prioritise competing demands and meet tight deadlines, and apply organisational policies, governance principles and information governance requirements confidently in day‑to‑day work. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels, alongside strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.


Full UK Driving Licence:

Full UK driving licence is essential to this role.
