Detention Custody Officer – International Immigration Removals
Operating as a DCO within the Gatwick team, you will escort immigration returnees within the UK and fly them internationally to their country of origin, with other transportation modes used occasionally. You are responsible for maintaining high safety and security standards for those being removed from the UK, while promoting welfare and decency.

Requirements & Qualifications
* You hold a British passport.
* You hold a full UK manual driving licence, held for at least 12 months.
* You are over the age of 21.
* If you have points, it must be 6 or fewer on your licence.
* You have lived in the UK continuously for the past 5 years and have not spent any single period of more than 3 consecutive months outside the UK during this time.
* You possess strong English and maths skills equivalent to GCSE level and can produce clear written reports for official authorities.
* You are physically fit and able to meet demands that may involve sustained physical activity.
* You are willing and able to receive Yellow Fever vaccination, a mandatory requirement for travel to certain countries.
Compensation & Benefits
* Basic Salary £35,975
* 37.5 hours per week on a shift pattern of 10 days on and 4 days off, 365 days a year.

Training & Development
After selection and vetting, you will complete a paid 4‑week initial training course, followed by a residential programme on safe and lawful restraints and use of force. Continued development and mentoring over the next 12 months will lead to a Level 3 apprenticeship in Detention and Custody.
