Overview
As part of our workforce transformation, we are looking to appoint Consultants in Emergency Medicine to work in our Emergency Departments at The Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.
Responsibilities
* Provide emergency medicine clinical care in the Emergency Department.
* Manage a flexible shift rota between 08:00 – 22:00 on weekdays and 8 hours at weekends, with options for fixed weekdays off or part-time positions where possible.
* Engage with opportunities for joint academic and clinical appointments where possible.
* Support professional and academic study, including post-graduate qualifications and academic research where appropriate.
* Contribute to the development of junior colleagues and participate in the overall improvement of emergency care services as part of the Urgent & Emergency Care Group.
Academic and Training Opportunities
* Potential involvement with the Kent & Medway Medical School (KMMS) and collaboration with university partners and other Kent Trusts.
* Support for study and research, including post-graduate qualifications such as MBA or MSc, as part of our academic development pathway.
* Special interest posts, CESR completion routes, and a cohort of trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners supported by Acute Care Nurse Consultants.
Team and Environment
* Emergency medicine consultants are supported by an EM workforce including 25 Middle Grade/Speciality Doctors, higher trainees, and ACCS posts.
* Part of a group that has recently invested in improvements to the emergency floor and ongoing workforce model development.
