An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Stores manager to join our clients successful team. The role will involve some heavy lifting, use of a forklift, purchasing stock from approved suppliers, signing in deliveries, allocating stock to engineers' jobs, and using Sage for stock management. Duties of a Stores Manager:
* Maintain accurate inventory records - ensuring stock levels are maintained at optimal levels.
* Manage receipt of goods, storage and issuing of materials, parts and allocating to engineers
* Work closely with procurement/purchasing, production/operations (or service team) and logistics to forecast demand, avoid shortages, and support business needs.
* Forklift experience and heavy lifting will be required.
Proven experience in stores/inventory management, warehouse operations or logistics environment.
* Forklift licence or experience operating material handling equipment.
* Occasional flexibility may be required (e.g., early/late shifts, weekend cover or on-call for stock emergencies).
* Experience in cost control and budget management for the stores function
