Learning Support Assistant – Full-Time Role in Salford
Your NewpanyHays Education is working in partnership with a well-established special educational needs (SEN) high school in Manchester. The school is known for its inclusive and supportive environment, catering to students aged 11–19 with a range of additional needs including autism spectrum condition (ASC), moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), and speech, language andmunication needs (SLCN). Your New JobAs a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to deliver tailored interventions, assist with classroom activities, and promote positive behaviour and engagement. Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting students with autism, learning difficulties, andmunication needs
2. Providing 1:1 and small group support
3. Assisting with differentiated learning and classroom tasks
4. Supporting personal care and mobility where required
5. Creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this Learning Support Assistant role, you should have:
6. Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (in schools, care, or youth settings)
7. A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
8. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
9. A relevant qualification ( CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent) is desirable
10. An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply through Hays
