Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist, you will be a vital healthcare professional responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with physical limitations or injuries. Your expertise in movement science and rehabilitation will enable you to develop personalized treatment plans to help patients restore function, reduce pain, and improve mobility. The primary responsibilities include:
1. Comprehensive Assessment: Conduct clinical examinations and diagnostic tests to identify impairments and functional limitations, forming a holistic understanding of each patient's condition.
2. Treatment Planning and Implementation: Create individualized treatment plans based on assessments, patient goals, and evidence-based guidelines. Use interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, modalities, and patient education to address impairments and enhance well-being.
3. Manual Therapy and Therapeutic Techniques: Perform hands-on techniques like joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, and manual stretching. Prescribe therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and neuromuscular re-education to improve strength, flexibility, and motor control.
4. Pain Management and Modalities: Apply treatment modalities tailored to each patient's needs, monitoring responses and adjusting as necessary.
5. Functional Training and Rehabilitation: Guide patients through mobility training, gait training, and activities of daily living (ADL) retraining. Incorporate real-life scenarios and environmental modifications to facilitate skill transfer to home and community settings.
Qualifications
* Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
* Current license/certification in the state of practice
