Duration: Permanent Location: Manchester Working Pattern: 2 days working from the office, 3 days remote Department: Finance The Role This role supports the firm’s global tax compliance obligations across multiple jurisdictions, covering VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax, Corporation Tax and partnership tax matters. You will manage tax filings, maintain the global compliance calendar, prepare tax accruals and reconciliations, and support group‑level reporting, including profit extractions and permanent establishment reviews. The role also assists with partner‑related tax matters, global reporting requirements such as CbCR and Pillar 2, and tax aspects of acquisitions, new offices and restructures. You will work closely with finance teams, partners and external advisers, reporting into the International Tax Manager / Global Head of Tax. Essential Skills & Experience VAT (or similar) / Withholding Tax / Income Tax / Corporation Tax Compliance Obtain source data, information and returns from both accounting systems and global finance leaders. Preparing or reviewing, depending on jurisdiction, the VAT (or similar) returns. Preparing or reviewing, depending on jurisdiction, the withholding tax returns. Update and maintain a global tax compliance calendar. Understand and review corporation tax filings and manage the flow of information to external advisers. Understand and review corporation tax payments. Understand and review all partnership tax filings. Calculation of monthly tax accruals. Monthly reconciliation of tax ledgers. Keeping abreast of updates in tax legislation. Assistance in preparation of year‑end group consolidated corporation tax charge. Assist with compliance obligations of non‑UK‑related secondments. Group Responsibilities Reconciling and calculation of profit extractions to the UK. Assistance with reconciliation of group to local profit. Organise regular meetings with the finance team to document and understand tax‑related issues. Assistance with tax compliance relating to the creation of permanent establishments. Management of external tax advice costs with a focus on identifying processes to bring in‑house. Partner Responsibilities Calculation of year‑end non‑UK partner tax reserves, where applicable. Reconciliation of non‑UK partner tax reserves, where applicable. Assistance with calculation of partner foreign tax payments and availability of foreign tax credits. Assisting in the tax aspects of all non‑UK joiners, leavers, and transfers. Other Responsibilities Assistance with the filing and preparation of the tax aspects of the Country‑by‑Country Report. Assistance and preparation of Pillar 2 reporting requirements. Understanding the firm’s use of third‑party tax advisers and identifying ways to create efficiencies. Assistance with tax aspects of acquisitions, opening new offices, mergers and liquidations. Provide assistance to the International Tax Manager / Global Head of Tax.
