Main duties of the job
Work independently within the community, using high-level clinical assessment and treatment skills to assess and manage patients. The core workload is to support GPs with Care Home Ward Rounds.
May also be called upon to support the paramedic team at associated Surgery, Forest Surgery.
Job responsibilities
The paramedic is a registered paramedic educated to degree level who acts within professional boundaries.
Paramedics work independently within their scope of practice in the community, using enhanced clinical assessment and treatment skills to assess and manage patients presenting with acute presentations including minor illness or injury, abdominal pains, chest pains and headaches.
The core workload is to support GPs with Care Home Ward Rounds, covering both acute care and long-term condition management.
The post holder is an integral part of the general practice clinical team, working autonomously and self-motivated.
There may be a requirement to work cross-site with the paramedic team at Forest Surgery.
Qualifications
* Educated to degree level in paramedicine or equivalent experience
* Registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council as a Paramedic
* Working towards developing Level 7 capability in paramedic areas of practice and, within six months of the commencement of reimbursement for that individual (or a longer time period as agreed with the commissioner), has completed and been signed off formally within the clinical pillar competencies of the Advanced Clinical Practice Framework

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) is required to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Depending on experience £49k-£56k Band 7 Equivalent
