Junior Business Intelligence Developer
Fixed‑term contract (18 months) – Full‑time.
Job Summary
We are seeking a self‑motivated Junior Business Intelligence Developer to join the Integrated Performance team within Digital and Data Services. The role focuses on developing and maintaining IBM Cognos dashboards and SQL metrics to support performance monitoring across the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Support maintenance and creation of IBM Cognos dashboards for Integrated Performance metrics.
* Write complex SQL code to build metrics from the Trust data warehouse.
* Ensure reporting obligations to NHS Digital, NHS England, and Commissioners are met.
* Collaborate with the team manager and stakeholders to refine data visualisations and reports.
* Assist in data analysis and provide insights to operation managers.
Person Specification
Essential
* Degree or equivalent in a relevant subject (information analysis, data science, etc.).
* Experience writing advanced SQL and other system development languages.
* Experience creating dashboards and reports using Cognos or similar tools.
* Knowledge of the software development cycle: requirements gathering, design, build, test, release, sign‑off.
* Excellent relational database skills, data modelling, system programming, and end‑user interface design.
* Good numeracy and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
* Experience working in an NHS environment.
* Experience with large data sets.
* Knowledge of the IBM Cognos product suite and integration layers.
