Position Overview The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments and providing treatment to clients, following their training, licensing, and state regulations. This role requires collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to treat patients with eating disorders and related or comorbid medical conditions. Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm Rotating On Call duties Location RTP Child, Adolescent, and Adult Inpatient and Residential Treatment Center (Stirrup Creek Drive, Durham, NC) Click here to learn more about our RTP treatment center Compensation Disclosure Starting salary range between $120,000-145,000 Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position How Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners Empower Recovery Provide direct psychiatric services through the comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients, including appropriate exam, work-up and the prescription of medications and other interventions as indicated. Evaluate, diagnose and treat psychiatric complications of eating disorders, as well as intercurrent conditions, for patients at all levels of care. Frequency of visits should be dictated by clinical need, and facilitate appropriate psychiatric care for the clinical severity and in accordance with direction from site psychiatric leadership Liaise by telephone with each patient’s ambulatory provider, at a minimum, at admission, discharge, and as needed during treatment in the context of significant concerns. Liaise with families of patients as indicated Evaluate all patients on caseload within two weeks of discharge, to assess stability for next level of care, and to complete a summary of all follow-up recommendations and a comprehensive discharge summary. Work with the Utilization Review team to provide psychiatric information to support the facilitation of peer-to-peer insurance reviews, determination of appropriate levels of care, arbitration of clinical appeals, etc. Provide education about psychiatric complications and comorbidities of eating disorders to family and patients as needed. Maintain license and supervision requirements in association with on-site collaborating physician. Perform other duties as assigned or identified Qualifications Duly certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant by appropriate national certifying body and state licensing agency Appropriate State Licensure to practice independently in field, with prescriptive authority Two (2) or more years of practice, with a preference for experience in hospitals, and work with complex psychiatric patients.
