Overview
Calderdale College is seeking a confident and customer-focused Weekend Commercial Officer to support commercial activity within our Inspire Centre. You will provide a professional front-of-house service for partners, clients and visitors, ensuring a positive experience and smooth operation of weekend bookings, events and facility use.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality customer service to commercial clients and visitors. Respond to enquiries in person and by phone, maintaining a welcoming and professional environment.
* Support security processes, ensuring only authorised individuals access the building.
* Operate the College phone system and handle income, card transactions and receipts.
* Prepare facilities for use, including equipment set-up and take-down.
* Liaise with cleaning and facilities teams to maintain safe, clean and well-managed spaces.
* Ensure accurate financial recording and contribute to site security.
* Act as a Fire Warden and support emergency procedures.
* Build strong relationships with clients, staff and stakeholders.
* Provide shift cover when required and report feedback or issues promptly.
Qualifications / Skills
* Strong customer service skills across face-to-face, phone and email interactions.
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and stay calm under pressure.
* Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills.
* Knowledge of health and safety, administrative systems and basic IT tools.
* Flexible, reliable and able to troubleshoot issues effectively.
* Professional, positive and committed to delivering an excellent customer experience.
