A vacancy has arisen for one full time (37 hours) AFC Band 6 Community Addiction Psychiatric Charge Nurse.
This is a Fixed Term post to 31.07.2026.
The post holder will be based with the North Ayrshire Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service (NADARS) at Caley Court Resource Centre in Stevenston. This is a multidisciplinary integrated service of both health and social care staff. You will be flexible to work evenings and weekends.
What you will do:
Deliver care to individuals with the most complex co-existing mental health and drug and/or alcohol dependent presentations.
Making autonomous decisions with regard to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person centred care.
Liaise with partner services to ensure integrated care delivery.
Assist in the development of new procedures and projects.
Provide support and line management to junior staff.
Provide health advice, crisis support, and promote recovery.
Uphold clinical standards and contribute to service improvement.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Prospective candidates will be RMN qualified. You will have experience in supporting people with alcohol and drug problems and display a positive attitude towards enhancing an individual’s recovery journey. You should also have a willingness to engage in training opportunities to enhance your knowledge base and promote continuing professional development. Experience of working in a related community setting is desirable. You will also promote and enhance the already established recovery networks across North Ayrshire and enhance links with both voluntary and statutory agencies to provide comprehensive, integrated recovery pathways.
