Pay rate – starting from £12.71 per hour Contract – Shift work – ongoing A Greater London local authority are recruiting experienced Adults Support Workers for their Residential Homes. Previous experience is essential as a Support Worker working with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour and our client can promise a nurturing and supportive working environment. As a Support Worker your main responsibilities will include: Support service users in accordance with their needs and wishes as detailed in their person-centred support plans. Demonstrate a commitment to the Safeguarding of Adults and to recognise and report any disclosure, suspicion or evidence of harm, risk of harm, abuse, or neglect. Accurately complete documentation that forms part of their support plans and notes. Support the service users in staying active, healthy, and as independent as possible. Attend training, including induction training, team meetings and individual supervisions. Support people in all aspects of their daily living, such as shopping, cooking and domestic. We are recruiting Support Workers on a temporary / ad hoc basis to work in various private healthcare settings, supporting service users with mental health illnesses and learning difficulties. The suitable candidates will: Have worked a minimum of 6 months recent experience in a healthcare setting. Have a flexible approach towards work. About you It is essential that applicants have experience in: -Supporting people who may challenge (verbally, physically), - Keeping calm and confident in challenging situations - Experience in Positive Behaviour Support - Experience of enabling people with a learning disability/autism to take positive risks in their lives - Knowledge of the Transforming Care Agenda
