Position: Youth Club Worker Pay: £13.30 per hour Location: Various Locations Contract Type: Fixed Term until 30th June 2026 Hours per week: Up to 7 hours per week ​ Job Role ​ Are you passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives? ​ Do you have the energy, creativity, and heart to inspire the next generation? Do you have a stash of creative ideas and a passion for youth work? ​ YMCA Norfolk is on the lookout for Youth Engagement Workers to bring our Youth Clubs to life! ​ This isn’t your average job. It’s about creating safe, fun, and empowering spaces where young people can be themselves, try new things, and grow into confident, capable individuals. ​ We’re looking for Youth Engagement Workers for the following clubs: ​ Wednesdays: Newton Flotman Youth Club – 5:45pm – 8:15pm (Term Time Only) Thursdays: Horsford Youth Club – 5:45pm – 8:15pm Friday: Mattishall Youth Club - 4:45pm – 6:30pm ​ Whether you’d love to work at all 3 clubs, or you’re just interested in 1, we’d love to hear from you. ​ In addition to the hours listed, there will be additional time allocated for supervision and training. Further information can be found at – Youth Engagement Worker Job Description ​ ​ What You’ll Be Doing: ​ As a Youth Engagement Worker, you’ll be the heartbeat of our Youth Clubs—safe, welcoming spaces where young people can relax, connect, and grow. You’ll be delivering fun, purposeful sessions that help young people build confidence, learn new skills, and feel part of something bigger. ​ Running fun, engaging, and meaningful sessions for young people Supporting young people to share their voices, shape their futures, and even become peer mentors Working with a fab team and partner agencies to bring fresh ideas and opportunities Making sure our clubs are stocked, safe, and full of positive vibes Championing youth participation, safeguarding, and inclusion every step of the way The Organisation YMCA Norfolk is a great place to work, offering meaningful opportunities to make a difference in the lives of young people. We place young people at the heart of all we do and are committed to building an organisation that is responsive to the needs of young people and our stakeholders. ​ What you’ll need to succeed ​ You don’t need to be a superhero — but if you’ve got the following, you’ll fit right in: ​ People person – You connect easily with young people and adults from all walks of life Creative spark – You bring energy, ideas, and fun to every session Team player – You work well with others and know how to support and be supported Organised & reliable – You can juggle plans, keep track of stock, and meet deadlines Experienced – You’ve worked with young people before, ideally in youth work or community settings Tech-savvy – You’re comfortable using Outlook, Word, and Excel Driver – You’ve got a full licence and your own transport (essential for getting to different club locations) ​ ​ Bonus points if you’ve got a JNC youth work qualification or experience in peer mentoring, safeguarding, or running group activities!
