Job Summary
Suffolk County Council is looking for a Social Worker to join our Family Solutions Team. The role involves working intensively with families to provide a solution‑focused, strength‑based, trauma‑informed intervention across Suffolk.
* Location: Beacon House, Landmark Business Park, Whitehouse Road, Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 5PB (Hybrid working)
* Hours: 37 hours per week (Flexible working options available)
* Contract: Permanent
* Salary: £34,434 – £40,777 per annum, plus a pro‑rated retention payment (part‑time)
Your role and responsibilities
You will work with families and provide an intensive, solution-focused, strength‑based, trauma informed intervention.
* Edge of Care: 12‑week intervention, whole family focus to prevent children entering care.
* Reunification: up to 20‑week intervention to support children in care to return home.
* Restore and Prevent: 12‑week intervention to sustain placements where breakdown potential exists.
Requirements
* A relevant social work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
* Full, current driving licence and personal transport, or meet mobility requirements through reasonable and suitable means.
* Experience in working intensively with families, safeguarding, or complex case management is desirable.
