Job Summary
A civil engineering company are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Safety Manager to oversee and enhance the workplace safety programs. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while fostering a culture of safety within the organisation. The candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry which is essential. A good understanding of environmental health and safety (EHS) practices is required.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance within the construction industry.
* Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
* Provide training and development programs for employees on safety, health and environmental procedures.
* Investigate workplace incidents to determine root causes and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
* Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance status for management review.
* Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety awareness across the organisation.
Requirements
* Proficient knowledge of OSHA standards, workers’ compensation law, and environmental health regulations.
* Strong background in construction environments.
* Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
* Experience in conducting training sessions related to health & safety topics.
* Familiarity with EHS management systems and root cause analysis methodologies.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in maintaining compliance documentation.
* Ability to work collaboratively across departments while fostering a proactive approach to workplace safety.
