About the Role
We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to take ownership of new customer acquisition and revenue growth within the UK solar market. This role is focused on identifying and developing opportunities with installers, distributors, and partners, while building strong relationships that drive long-term value.
As a BDM, you'll combine sales expertise with sector knowledge to grow our market share, generate new business, and support existing customers in adopting Westech's innovative solar solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional to make a tangible impact in the renewable energy sector.
Key ResponsibilitiesNew Business Development
* Prospect, qualify, and win new installer and distributor accounts across the UK.
* Build a strong pipeline of opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and follow-up.
* Deliver tailored sales presentations and proposals to match customer needs.
Account & Relationship Management
* Develop and manage long-term relationships with key customers and partners.
* Act as a trusted advisor, ensuring customers receive excellent service and product support.
* Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to maximise account value.
Sales & Revenue Growth
* Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
* Negotiate contracts and pricing within company guidelines.
* Work closely with the Sales Director to align activity with growth objectives.
Market Engagement
* Represent Westech Solar at industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events.
* Gather and share market intelligence to inform sales strategy and product development.
* Stay informed on renewable energy market trends and competitor activity.
Collaboration & Reporting
* Provide accurate forecasts, sales reports, and updates on pipeline activity.
* Share customer feedback to support continuous product and service improvement.
* Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and customer support.
What We're Looking ForRequired
* Proven track record in B2B sales or business development (ideally in solar, renewables, or a technical sector).
* Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
* Ability to identify opportunities, close deals, and manage accounts effectively.
* Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently.
* Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable
* Experience selling solar panels, inverters, or related renewable technologies.
* Existing network of contacts within the UK installer or distributor community.
* Knowledge of UK energy policy and renewable industry trends.
