Role Outline
As an Occupational Health Technician, you will join our multidisciplinary occupational health team at Hinkley Point C. You will be responsible for conducting health screening and surveillance procedures in line with company protocols, ensuring the accurate and confidential recording of medical information, and maintaining meticulous occupational health records.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct baseline health screenings including height, weight, blood pressure, urinalysis, audiometry, lung function, vision, and drug and alcohol testing following chain‑of‑custody protocols.
* Assist in PTS medicals, file and tidy records, and support clinical staff.
* Maintain, calibrate, and store all equipment.
* Refer queries beyond your competency to clinical staff as required.
* Participate in health promotion and education programmes and continually improve your professional skills.
What We Are Looking For
* Suitable background such as Health Care Assistant, Fitness Instructor, Ambulance EMT, Military Medic, or Offshore Medic.
* Knowledge and experience in occupational health; no formal qualification required.
* Approachable, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong IT literacy.
* Self‑motivated, proactive, capable of working independently and in a team, and respects patient confidentiality.
* Ability to work under supervision and recognise limits of practice.
Hours
Full‑time: 37.5 hours per week. Working pattern: day shifts (8 am‑4 pm, Monday‑Friday), back shift (4 pm‑12 pm), and night shifts (8 pm‑6 am, Monday‑Thursday).
Location
On‑site at the client site, Hinkley Point C, Somerset.
Salary
£26,780 per annum.
