Anopportunity has arisen for a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to joinour Physiotherapy department at West Midlands Hospital inHalesowen. The post will require you to work in the physiotherapydepartment and at our daycase hospital in Stourbridge. Thesuccessful candidate will be able to offer 1-2 days a week orevenings dependant on clinicalcaseload.
The Hospital has a30 bedded mixed inpatient case load which includes orthopaedics,gynae, colorectal and general surgery. The dynamic outpatientphysiotherapy department has a 4 private treatment rooms, largegymnasium and a team office. The outpatient work consists ofprivate patients, GP referrals, self-referrals and NHSpatients. Hydrotherapy and Pilates services are also runthrough the Physiotherapydepartment.
We areseeking a motivated Physiotherapist with experience in PelvicHealth to provide evidence based assessment and treatment for ourgynae patients and MSK perinatal patients. We currentlyreceive pre-operative and post-operative referrals for incontinence(bladder and bowel), prolapse and pelvic pain, in particularEndometriosis.
The successfulcandidate will have:
* Evidenceof relevant pelvic health post-graduate courses. In particular, becompetent with internal examinations (vaginal andanorectal)
* Strong experienceof managing complex pelvic health patients (antenatal, postnatal,perimenopause, menopause) across MSK andgynae
* Experience in treatingbladder dysfunction such as stress urinary incontinence, urgency,overactivebladder
* Experience intreating bowel dysfunction such as constipation andurgency
* Experience intreating complex pelvic pain, particularly within Endometriosispatients
* Active engagementwith the POGP
* Someexperience within Men’s health for bladder, bowel and pelvic painwould be desirable
* Aninterest in developing a physio-led pessary service would bedesirable
* A willingness towork positively and effectively within a teamenvironment
* Effectivecommunication skills
* Abilityto participate in clinical audit, departmental in-service trainingand utilise outcomemeasures
WestMidlands Hospital is a leading private Hospital set inpleasant grounds at Colman Hill, West Midlands. Convenientlylocated on the outskirts of Halesowen and only three miles fromjunction 3 of the M5 and 10 miles from Birmingham city centre, weoffer the highest standards of clinical and personal care across amultitude of specialities. The hospital has 2 operatingtheatres, an endoscopy theatre and full diagnostic services onsite. We also have a designated off-site ambulatory care unitlocated in Stourbridge to enable us to offer more services to ourpatients.
