The Opportunity:
NRL is looking for a Pilot Plant Technician to join our clients pilot plant operations and development team, based in Wilton.
The role will suit an applicant with a good background in plant-based experimentation. This is an opportunity to join an exciting and purpose-driven startup.

What you’ll do:
● Conducting high-quality testing to support product development
● Assembly and disassembly of test hardware and test equipment
● Adhering to test procedures to meet research and development requirements
● Assisting in the improvement of testing procedures and processes to enhance the quality and consistency of testing
● Calibrating and maintaining equipment
● Meeting testing deadlines as per the plan
● Reporting any variances or issues that affect test results
● Collaborating with a team to achieve goals
● Strictly following all safety and operating procedures on site
● Coordinating and communicating work with the wider team
● Be actively involved to support the project management of all works on our Pilot Plant
● Support on site contractors and teams
● Provide support to the Pilot Plant Manager and act as cover during holidays when needed
● Provide support to develop and roll out working procedures, site standards and other live working documents/systems
About you
Ideally, you will:
● Experience in plant-based research/testing/process
● Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team-oriented attitude
● Experience with high pressure and high temperature fluid systems, with knowledge of supercritical water conditions being an advantage
● Experience in maintaining and operating test stands or plants, with either a mechanical or electrical, controls and instrumentation focus. You will be expected to be hands-on and willing to address and resolve issues
● A passion for product development and a commitment to a net-zero environment
● Strong organisational and communication skills
● Proactivity and self-motivation
● Knowledge of plant risk assessments & health and safety protocols
● Ability to understand and execute standard operating procedures
● Familiarity with unexpected results or issues
● Be willing to undertake formal or informal training to close any skills or knowledge gaps needed to fulfil the role
