A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join a global manufacturing organisation, supporting ongoing production issues and leading continuous improvement manufacturing projects.
Manufacturing Engineer
Location: West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Walsall, Telford, Shrewsbury, Stafford, Cannock areas)

Our client is a specialist manufacturer, supplying complex metallic products and assemblies for the automotive industry. This year, they plan several key product launches, continued investment in the production facility, and increased volumes with further growth planned.
Job Description
* Oversee continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance plant efficiency and performance.
* Specify production facilities and capital equipment; make vendor recommendations.
* Implement manufacturing process improvements to optimize performance and capability.
* Lead machine PFMEA processes for existing and new capital investment programmes.
* Review and improve SOPs, process instructions, process flow, standard operations, and capability.
* Support New Product Development (NPI) initiatives and DFM/DFA.
* Optimize process flow and minimize waste using MTM, line balancing, VSM, and lean methods.
Experience
* Proven experience as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Senior Industrial Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineering Manager within high-volume mechanical manufacturing.
* Time served or Graduate Mechanical in Manufacturing Engineering or similar technical subject.
* Experience leading significant CAPEX projects, including specification, cost justification, vendor management, and NPI launch.
* Lead PFMEA process.
* Project management and supplier/vendor liaison experience.
* Experience with production processes like plastic molding, stamping, cold rolling, casting, forging, CNC machining, or large automated/robotic assembly.
* Effective communication skills for liaison and teamwork.
* Hands-on problem solving, analytical skills, attention to detail.
* Excellent organizational skills; ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
