Offer description

Community Projects Manager An exciting opportunity to help shape A Better Oldham Oldham Athletic Community Trust (OACT) is recruiting a Community Projects Manager to play a key role in the next phase of our growth and ambition. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, values-driven local charity at a pivotal time, as we deliver our new 2026–2029 Strategy and continue to strengthen our impact across the borough. Based at Boundary Park, the Community Projects Manager will lead and support a diverse portfolio of community projects, with a particular focus on health and wellbeing, while also contributing across education and community engagement. Working closely with the Head of Community, delivery staff and partners, the postholder will ensure projects are high quality, inclusive, needs-led and aligned with both funder requirements and OACT’s wider strategic priorities. Initially, the role will encompass a strong delivery element, with the postholder directly involved in sessions as they design, develop and grow projects. This hands-on approach is a key part of the role, enabling the successful candidate to build strong relationships, understand community need, and shape provision that is responsive and sustainable. As projects develop, the role will increasingly focus on coordination, quality assurance and leadership. The nature of the projects will include evening delivery, reflecting when and where local need is greatest. As such, the role requires an element of flexibility, balanced within a full-time contract, to ensure delivery meets the needs of participants and communities. This role is central to delivering OACT’s vision of ‘A Better Oldham’, supporting strategic priorities around Improved Health & Wellbeing, Individual Development, and Connecting Our Communities. The successful candidate will help translate strategy into action on the ground – managing people, partnerships, performance and budgets to maximise impact for local residents. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated individual with experience of delivering community-based projects, managing multiple priorities and working collaboratively with partners. You will be joining a growing organisation with strong local relationships, a clear sense of purpose, and ambitious but realistic plans for the future. This is a full-time, permanent role (40 hours per week) with a salary of £30,750 per annum. Further details, including the full job description and person specification, are available in the attached documents.
