Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated, compassionate, and resilient individuals to join our team as SEN / ALN Teaching Assistants across a variety of secondary schools and specialist provisions in Carmarthenshire.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support young people with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), helping them overcome barriers to learning, build independence, and thrive both academically and personally within a structured and supportive environment.

Your Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom. Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivering 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual needs
* Assisting teachers in implementing personalised learning plans
* Supporting students’ emotional regulation, engagement, and behaviour
* Building positive relationships with pupils, promoting confidence and independence
* Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
* Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
* Supporting with personal care where required

Who You’ll Support
You’ll work with students with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs, including:
* Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
* Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
* Complex medical needs (including specialist care settings)

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about making a difference. You will ideally have:
* An Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* EWC registration (or willingness to register)
* Experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility to adapt to different school environments and student needs
