Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. Duties
* Assist service users with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, ensuring their comfort and dignity are maintained
* Support individuals with their personal care routines in accordance with care plans
* Help with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional requirements are met
* Administer medication as directed and record all relevant information accurately
* Provide companionship and emotional support to service users, fostering positive relationships
* Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, adhering to organisational policies and procedures
* Support with light domestic tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organising personal spaces
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care delivery
* Assist with transportation needs, including driving service users to appointments or activities when required
Skills
* Valid driving licence and experience in home care or care home settings is desirable
* Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement personalised support strategies effectively
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact confidently with service users and team members
* Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
* Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism at all times
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment
* Organised with attention to detail to ensure the highest standards of care are consistently met
Skills / Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 beneficial
