Job Responsibilities
The post involves supporting individual residents in all aspects of their care including daily living needs as is outlined in the residents individualised care plan. The post holder is responsible for reporting any relevant changes in the residents condition to the qualified staff. Furthermore the post holder will assist in the physical care and support of people with mental health needs and challenging behaviours, proving person centred care and working within the Recovery Model to enable residents to be become socially inclusive, whilst supporting qualified staff to ensure the highest standards of care are upheld.
Person Specification
Education/Qualifications Essential:
* Good general education
* Previous experience of working within a care home
Desirable:
* NVQ care or equivalent
Knowledge Essential:
* Awareness of all infection control issues
* I.T. Literate
* Assist residents' with all activities of daily living (Hygiene, nutrition etc.)
* Ability to feed back accurate information to other members of the team
Skills/Experience Essential:
* Assist in the provision and care to residents
* Manual handling of residents using lifting aids
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
