Job Title: Apprentice Recruitment OfficerPay Rate: £28,085 per annumLocation: Office Based 5 days a week - Parklands Court, Rubery, Birmingham, B45 9PZReporting to: Senior Operations Manager - ApprenticeshipsHours: 40 per week - Monday to Friday Contractual Requirements: DBS Check Required About the Role:Are you organised, people‑focused, and passionate about helping others succeed? Do you want a role where you can make a real impact by supporting new talent into the business while building your own career in recruitment or HR?We're looking for an Apprentice Recruitment Officer to join our Skills & Early Careers team, playing a key role in delivering end‑to‑end recruitment activity for apprenticeships, in addition to supporting other early careers initiatives across Compass.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in recruitment, HR, or early careers, with exposure to the full recruitment lifecycle in a supportive, collaborative environment.What you'll be doing:You'll support the full recruitment journey by:Managing end‑to‑end recruitment processes for apprenticeship and early careers rolesProcessing vacancy briefing forms and advertising roles across agreed platformsReviewing CVs, shortlisting candidates, and completing screening callsAssessing eligibility for apprenticeship funding and candidate suitabilityWorking closely with hiring managers to support shortlisting and interviewsCoordinating interview invitations, candidate communications, and feedbackSupporting onboarding and compliance processes, including right‑to‑work and DBS checksEnsuring a smooth, positive recruitment and onboarding experience for both candidates and managersSupporting people beyond recruitment:Your role continues after a candidate joins the business. You'll also:Conduct structured touchpoint calls with new starters and their managers at defined intervalsCheck in on wellbeing, engagement, and expectations during the early stages in roleProvide guidance, advice, and signposting when challenges ariseIdentify early risks or concerns and escalate appropriately to ensure timely supportIn addition, you'll support wider processes aligned to the Skills and Early Careers team, working collaboratively with the Central Operations team to support broader recruitment and talent initiatives.Recruitment campaigns & events:Attend recruitment events, careers fairs, and meetings to support attraction activityAssist with recruitment drives across the businessSupport the Senior Operations Manager with recruitment campaigns and initiativesWhat we're looking for:We're looking for someone who is:Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasksConfident communicating with candidates and hiring managersDetail‑focused, especially around compliance and processesProfessional, approachable, and people‑orientatedInterested in recruitment, apprenticeships, and early careers developmentExperience/Qualifications:A previous qualification in Business Administration (Level 2 or Level 3)A Level 2 Recruitment qualification or relevant experienceExposure to recruitment, HR, apprenticeships, or early careers programmesExperience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environmentWhy join us?Be part of a supportive, collaborative Skills & Early Careers teamGain hands‑on experience across recruitment, onboarding, and engagementWork in a modern, refurbished office environment with free onsite mealsOpportunity to complete a formal qualification in Recruitment, supporting your development in roleBuild a strong foundation for a long‑term career in recruitment, HR, or early careersMake a real difference by helping new talent succeed from day oneWorking environment:You'll be based in our newly refurbished office, working alongside the wider Skills and Early Careers central team in a collaborative, office‑based environment.
