RolePurpose:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager to manage two small Residential Services for one young person in a solo placement / one young person in a non-solo placement with EBD within the West Midlands area.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, direction and management of the residential childrens service, to achieve the highest levels of performance to meet and exceed Serenity Path Care quality standards, resulting in unmatched levels of support provided to our young person.
In addition to this you will be accountable for the delivery of a high quality of service provision, incorporating care, welfare, safety and security of our YPs in our care to achieve a secure base whilst upholding your duty of care for their protection and support
Person Specification
Age: 25years +
As the Registered Manager you will demonstrate
Essential: To have proven managerial skills in a Residential Care Setting for a minimum 2 years
* Passionate about improving the lives and outcomes for children and young people.
* The ability to manage and support a strong staffing team
* Manage the homes budgets
* Ensure that a high standard of care is maintained at all times
* Compliance with all current legislation relating
* Deliver of childcare that is focused on obtaining the best outcomes for each child and young person within the home.
* Ensure that you and your staff work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose
* Understand, update and continuously improve relevant Serenity Path Care documents to include The Statement of Purpose, Young Persons Guide, policies and practice standards; seeking approval and communicating changes to others as appropriate
* An established record of consistently achieving Good/Outstanding ratings from Ofsted
* Excellent working knowledge of childrens homes national minimum standards and the Childrens Act 2010
It is essential that you
* Hold a UK Driving License and have access to own vehicle
* To be available during on call hours and organisational working patterns
* To supervise and mentor your staffing team
* Facilitation of care focused training
* Accessing of appropriate services to support the childcare practices within the home.
Uphold a working knowledge, implement, adhere to and give guidance to other staff on:
* Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015, The Children Act 1989 & 2004, Care Standards Act 2000
* Safeguarding / Child protection guidance and legislation
* Equal Opportunities Policies
* National Quality Standards for Childrens Homes, and Local Authority Child Protection Procedures, and any subsequent changes to said legislation.
Regulation & Safeguarding
* To ensure that the home meets and exceeds the standards and expectations
* Ensure the safety of all young people and staff, and that safeguarding practice, procedures and recording meet all current requirements and expectations.
* Regularly scan the regulatory Serenity Path Care and maintain up-to-date personal knowledge of all statutory requirements.
* Ensure all quality assurance issues remain a key focus by way of regularly seeking feedback on service provisions
* To investigate complaints and attend community meetings as and when required
* Recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns and carrying out health and safety inspections and duties
* Understand the importance of planning, monitoring, reviewing, recording keeping and safeguarding in relation to young people Maintaining administrative records
* An established record of consistently achieving Good/Outstanding ratings from Ofsted
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or Equivalent)
* Level 3/4/5 in Health and Social Care
* Excellent working knowledge of childrens homes national minimum standards and the Childrens Act 2010
* Demonstrable skills in Leadership, Safeguarding and Quality Assurance
