Sherfield School is looking to recruit a Sports Teaching Assistant to join us in September 2025. Working within the PE team and across the age range, the successful candidate will be an organised, positive and passionate individual with a strong work ethic. Physical Education and sport is a central feature of our school experience with excellent facilities, talented students and numerous opportunities to progress and succeed. The successful candidate will join a committed and highly professional team of staff with a wide range of expertise. The ability to deliver hockey, netball and cricket is highly desirable, together with experience in leading additional sports and fitness activities. This is a full time, term time only position. Person Specification Essential

* Willingness to work as part of a team.
* Good communicator with excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent subject knowledge.
* A 'self-starter' who can take the initiative and identify gaps to be filled and tasks to be completed.
* A flexible approach in order to meet the demands of working in a busy environment.
* Ability to develop positive working relationships with both students and colleagues.
* Ability to use ICT effectively.
* Willingness to participate fully in the wider life of the school, including in the Co-Curricular programme.
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection Procedures.
* Full driving license
Desirable
* A-Level or similar qualification in Physical Education/ Sports Science or directly relevant subject.
* Other professional qualifications.
* Willingness to be involved with boarding life.
