Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are working in partnership with a leading Tier One contractor specialising in social housing refurbishment and retrofit programmes, who are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor (or experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to step up) to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking, people-focused business delivering large-scale planned maintenance and retrofit works across the South West.
The Role
Based from Basingstoke, with a mix of office, site and home working, you will play a key role in delivering end-to-end commercial management of social housing refurbishment and retrofit projects.
Projects will include:
1. External Wall Insulation (EWI)
2. Solar PV installations
3. Ventilation upgrades
4. Windows & doors
5. Roofing
6. Air source heat pumps and decarbonisation works
You will work closely with operational teams and take full responsibility from procurement through to final accounts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
7. Manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects
8. Produce and manage CVRs and cost reporting
9. Prepare and submit monthly valuations and applications for payment
10. Value and authorise subcontractor payments
11. Monitor contract progress and manage variations
12. Support procurement and subcontractor selection
13. Prepare cash flow forecasts and financial reports
14. Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams
15. Ensure compliance with JCT contracts and SOR frameworks
About You
16. Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within social housing refurbishment
17. Ideally exposure to retrofit/decarbonisation works (insulation, solar, ventilation, heat pumps etc.)
18. Strong commercial awareness with excellent CVR knowledge
19. Proven ability to manage projects from start to final account
20. Good understanding of JCT contracts
21. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
22. Proficient in Microsoft Office
23. Full UK driving licence (essential)
