Lewis Davey are excited to be working with a leading sustainability consultancy in seeking a Sustainability Consultant at the Associate or Principal level with a strong focus on energy to join their team in either the Bournemouth or Reading office.
This opportunity sits within a dynamic, multidisciplinary sustainability group known for its industry-leading work in sustainable design, construction, and building operation. The team provides strategic sustainability consultancy across a wide range of sectors and is deeply engaged in driving best practices for sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead delivery on large-scale sustainability and energy-focused projects for high-profile clients.
* Manage project resources, prioritise team tasks, and coordinate effectively with wider project leads.
* Mentor and support the development of junior team members.
* Oversee and review work produced by colleagues, ensuring high standards and accuracy.
* Prepare fee proposals, manage budgets, and support invoicing processes.
* Conduct and lead client and design team workshops, clearly communicating technical information and strategies.
* Deliver and oversee technical modelling and analysis such as:
o Embodied carbon calculations
o Circular economy opportunities
o Building performance simulations
o Operational energy assessments
o On-site energy generation evaluations
o Overheating and thermal comfort risk assessments
* Develop and deliver integrated sustainability and energy strategies from early design through completion.
* Manage environmental assessments such as BREEAM, WELL, HQM, etc.
* Champion net zero and whole life carbon approaches across project portfolios.
* Contribute to internal research and innovation to support continued leadership in the field.
About You:
The successful candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, practical consultancy experience, and a passion for advancing sustainability in the built environment. Ideally, they will have:
* Strong knowledge in areas such as:
o Energy strategy development
o Building Regulations compliance (e.g. PassivHaus, Part L using IES or Elmhurst)
o In-use energy assessment
o Overheating and thermal modelling
o Net zero carbon planning
o Supporting planning submissions
* A degree in a relevant sustainability or engineering discipline.
* Proven experience in the built environment sector, ideally within a sustainability or engineering consultancy setting.
* Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
* A drive to make a measurable difference through sustainable solutions.
