Contract Type: Part-time • Contract Term: Permanent • Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 8:30am to 3:30pm with a 30 minute break, Monday to Friday. Term time only for 39 weeks a year (including 5 inset days).
Salary: Scale 3 to Scale 4 (Range 5 to 8) dependant on qualifications and experience. Actual Salary £19,813 to £20,430 per annum (includes paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

The School
Merrylands Primary School and Nursery is located in Cumberland Drive, Laindon, Basildon. We are looking to appoint an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to support our SEND pupils and to provide interventions. You will work in partnership with the Class Teacher and must be able to work flexibly and with enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
* Support SEND pupils and provide interventions as directed, in partnership with the Class Teacher.
* Be able to work flexibly and with enthusiasm in a team
* Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that supports pupils with diverse needs
Person Specification / Qualifications
* Has high expectations of the children and themselves with a passion for raising standards and attainment
* Can think creatively to engage, enthuse and motivate children to learn
* Is passionate about supporting all pupils, demonstrating empathy and understanding of different needs
* Is confident and able to work with pupils with challenging needs, including social and emotional needs/behaviours
* Has a good understanding of the primary curriculum and skills to assist pupils in developing a good standard of attainment
* Has a good understanding of how to support children with pastoral needs
* Is confident and able to support pupils in small groups and 1:1
* Works well as part of a team and is committed to improving and developing their own practice
