Job Description

The principle function of the Commercial Department is to deliver sales revenue and margin growth in line with the annual operating plan (AOP).


The Role

The Account Manager is responsible for sales of business unit solutions in a geography or market. Duties include achieving annual objectives for sales, margins and volume growth. The position is focused on securing business from current and prospective accounts. The Individual must have the ability to assist customers in problem solving to deliver solutions, bring energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to their daily routines.

This role reports into the Managing Director. While the role is focussed predominantly on the UK, there may be foreign travel in the future, both for meeting suppliers to learn about products and to expand sales and look at different territories.


Accountabilities

* Profitable revenue growth including robust new business development.
* Achieve stated gross margin target as a percentage of sales in line with AOP and Forecasts.
* Approach the sales process with a high degree of professionalism and effectiveness by successful utilization of customer centric selling skills and tools, such as use of scorecards, business reviews, EVE tools, high/wide/deep, 5 warning signs, prospecting & new account calls, development of a robust sales funnel, collecting ARs, avoidance of bad debts, cross selling, and effective CRM system management.
* Visit customers throughout the UK, and potentially customers and suppliers around the world.
* Contribute to the strategy and direction of the ITO brand by evaluating new markets, both geographically and product wise.
* Develop account relationships, identify opportunities and capture service opportunities at strategic accounts within assigned geography or industry.
* Understand key players, applications, requirements, trends, and needs as well as Avient's potential and share within the targeted industry. Become an industry and product expert to leverage successes across the industry.

General Information

* UK travel required, with foreign travel potentially increasing in the future alongside sales opportunities.
* In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, other duties may be assigned by the Line Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities


Commercial Responsibility

* As agreed with the Managing Director, develop the account strategy and tactics for the ITO brand in the UK.
* Making initial contact with customers & solving technical problems.
* Sell the benefits of Avient / ITO.
* Manage the conversion of customer production to Avient / ITO.
* Maintain regular communication with customers.
* Identify new product opportunities in the region.
* Provide technical support and liaise with technical/customer service team to ensure customer requirements and satisfaction are maintained.


Financial Responsibility

* Manage the expense budget for the assigned region.
* Provide information for informed price decisions.
* Maximise sales and contribution for the region.
* Negotiate pricing and contracts with customers under the direction of the Managing Director.
* Achieve sales and contribution forecast for the region.


Qualifications


Qualifications & Experience

* 5-10 years Sales experience related markets
* Knowledge of the textile manufacturing industry is essential
* Ability to effectively and simultaneously manage multiple projects at various stages of the sales process of product and solutions.
* Ability to clearly and comfortably discuss a wide variety of products and technologies.
* Demonstrate strong new business development, client relationship management and sales forecasting expertise.
* Proven track record of consistently achieving sales quotas with targets.
* Demonstrate a successful track record of closing deals and meeting quotas.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to converse at Director level (both verbally and in writing).
* Results oriented.
