Job Description for Optometrist at Asda Opticians
At Asda Opticians, our top priority is the health and wellbeing of our customers, delivering high-quality patient care and service.
A typical day involves completing eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service examinations. You will work alongside our Dispensing Optician Manager to support training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards.
Due to our NHS extended service contracts, we are committed to providing a wide range of eye care services, including treatment and monitoring of eye conditions. We will support you in gaining any additional necessary accreditations.
We are passionate about training our Optometrists, offering a comprehensive CPD programme, protected time for further accreditations funded by Asda, and development opportunities to meet evolving eye care needs.
You will receive full support from our in-store, regional, and head office teams, whether your queries are clinical or service-related.
About You
We are seeking a dedicated Optometrist committed to excellence in healthcare. You should be eager to contribute to our store's service levels and foster positive relationships within the team and community.
Using your clinical skills and passion, you will help create a memorable customer experience.
Requirements
* Fully qualified and registered with the GOC
* Registered with your NHS area team or health board
* MECs or WECs accredited (or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months, funded and supported by us)
* Meeting statutory CPD points requirements
* Passionate about developing patient services and shaping departmental culture
Applicants must provide evidence of registration with the GOC, Right To Work in the UK, NHS performer list evidence, and two clinical references. For Wales, WECS and WGOS module accreditation evidence is required.
