Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Stockton Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Benefits * Company events * Cycle to work scheme * Gym membership * On-site parking * Referral programme Job Description * Solve complex engineering problems using mechanical engineering principles including the definition of materials. * Use 3D and 2D CAD to generate models and drawings of components and assemblies. * Use FEA to analyse design performance. * Create and maintain bills of materials. * Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve objectives. * Create specifications that can be used in the procurement of bought out components. * Work closely with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to ensure product feasibility. * Building and testing of prototypes and engineering samples. * Workshop engineering – Hands-on development. Skills & Experience * Degree in mechanical engineering or experience working in a similar role. * 3 year’s experience in design engineering. * 3D and 2D CAD software competency (SolidWorks or similar). * Experience with a PDM system (SolidWorks, Teamcenter or similar). * Understanding and application of GD&T. * Component and or assembly design. * Understanding of design for manufacture. * Practical (hands-on) engineering/mechanical skills. * FEA/CAE experience.
