Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Sheffield
Summary
A Principal contractor specialising in railway and civil engineering Is looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work alongside a team of experienced Quantity Surveyors and get involved in a range of projects from inception to completion within the Railway Infrastructure sector, working on the Network Rail Reactive & Small Scheme Framework.
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will;
1. Take commercial responsibility for a portfolio of works
2. Manage, train and provide support to a dedicated Commercial team, carrying out regular catch ups on their progress
3. Provide advice to the Commercial team and Project staff, on Commercial and contractual matters, including reviewing and drafting of correspondence
4. Manage and produce formal reports for inclusion in the quarterly Commercial board report
5. Monitor contract compliance against statutory requirements
6. Develop client relationships, achieving a progressive improvement in customer satisfaction
7. Oversee and monitor contract costs against agreed budgets
8. Develop and monitor the use of cost and financial reporting systems
9. Carry out monthly/periodic financial reviews (CVR's) on portfolio/multiple projects and forecast final outturn values for cost, sales and margin
10. Prepare and submit periodic valuations/application for payments ensuring that Client payment and cash collection is achieved in accordance with the contract
11. Identify potential commercial/financial risk and opportunity and evaluate options to mitigate/realise.
12. Oversee the procedures and liaise with the supply chain for the procurement, negotiation and placing of sub contract and supplier orders
13. Assist with tenders, both in terms of formulating and review
Senior Quantity Surveyor Skills / Experience
14. Experience working in a fast passed environment ideally on a reactive framework on similar
15. 3+ years' experience working in a Quantity Surveying role in the rail, construction industry,
16. A degree in Quantity Surveying - Essential
17. Have good communication and client facing skills
18. Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised - Essential
19. Demonstrate ability to lead a team
20. Have a willingness to work towards their APC and become Chartered
21. Rail experience - Desirable
22. NEC 4 Experience
23. RICS/CES - Desirable
Salary / Benefits:
Between £55,000 - £65,000 (DOE) plus
