The Programme Planning Manager will support the Programme Manager in delivering strategic aims through developing, implementing, and delivering effective planning and assurance processes across a programme of projects (typically £100-£150m in value). Key projects include replacing boilers with all-electric, non-fossil fuel plants, and transitioning to refrigerants with lower global warming potential. Reporting to the Lead Planning Manager, you will lead project planning across all lifecycle stages, from concept approval to delivery and closeout, ensuring performance targets are met and surpassed on time. Duties include: Creating and maintaining schedules for the entire project journey, including managing control programmes from concept to closeout, contract programme evaluations, assessing compensation events, conducting delay analysis, and driving schedule improvements. Leading and managing planning teams for the programme. Applying your knowledge across multiple projects to achieve strategic goals. Contributing to the development of standards, managing, motivating, coaching, and mentoring team members. Reviewing the programme, assisting in trend and change processes, reporting, risk management, and seeking efficiency improvements. Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards across the programme and contractors. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Degree/Post-Grad in construction or related field; membership of a recognised organisation such as RICS preferred. Experience as a senior planner from the construction industry on multi-year programmes/projects valued over £50m. Experience leading small teams (2-3 people) highly desirable. Significant experience with Primavera P6. Experience planning multiple, interfacing, concurrent projects is highly desirable. Experience in planning infrastructure programmes/projects in a live operational environment is desirable. Strong commercial and financial awareness. Knowledge of NEC contracts is highly desirable. Good leadership, influencing, communication skills, and the ability to motivate and develop others. Knowledge of airport environments and personal resilience are advantageous.
